In development · Built for Bluebeam Revu and CAD PDFs

Count every tag. Trust every total.

countIT reads your PDF drawings and counts fixture types, door tags, plant tags, and devices. Then it checks the count against your schedule, so nothing goes missing between DD and CA.

Free tier needs no account. Your drawings stay on your computer.

Layer-aware counting

Layers + zones

countIT lists every layer in the PDF. Click a badge to set its role. Tags on TAGS get counted, shapes on POCHE or MASK block out areas, and everything else is ignored.

Pro

Two-pass scanning

Quick scan + deep scan

A quick scan finds every candidate tag. You uncheck the false positives, like dimension text and ceiling tile labels, then a deep scan checks each page up to 10 times.

Schedule cross-reference

Quality control

countIT finds the luminaire key or schedule in the set and flags mismatches both ways. Catch the orphan type before the contractor sends an RFI.

Multipliers and tag patterns

Tag syntax

Stacked, prefix, and suffix multipliers count correctly. Pattern rules group whole families: Z for linear, X for exterior, TW and WD suffixes stripped to the base type.

Capture windows and regions

Count by area

Draw named windows to count one area at a time, or skip title blocks and keys. Break results down by level, sector, sheet, room, or your own region types.

How it works

From PDF to a checked count in four steps

Open the PDF

countIT detects the PDF type, finds every layer, and skips backbone and template pages on its own.

Set layer roles

Your workspace applies default roles. Adjust any layer with one click, or draw a capture window on a flat set.

Scan and review

Run a quick scan, confirm the tag list, then start a deep scan. A Windows notification tells you when it's done.

Export

Check the cross-reference report, then export to CSV for your schedule, your budget, or priceIT.

Workspaces

One counting engine. Your industry's language.

Pick a workspace and countIT changes its column names, default layer roles, and tag patterns to match your discipline. Click one to see it.

On the roadmap

What's coming after launch

Phase 2

Linear length

Measure linear runs to scale and report feet-inches and decimal feet side by side.

Phase 2

Symbol matching

Count untagged plant symbols and hatches by capturing one example of each.

Phase 2

Spaces for priceIT

Read Bluebeam polygons as named spaces with square footage, then send counts per space to priceIT.
